Curriculum
The MSc programme in Computer Networking is structured over two years and organised into four semesters, combining a strong theoretical foundation with extensive practical application. In the first semester, students build core knowledge in areas such as Applied Criptography, Data and Machine Learning, Network Security, Multimedia Services and Protocols, Quality of Service in the Internet, Fixed and Mobile Networks. The second semester strengthens technical skills through courses in Network Management, Internet of Things, New Network Paradigms, Software Defined Networks, complemented by an hands-on an Integrated Project in Computer Networking to foster students’ multidisciplinary competencies.
In the third semester, students participate in Seminars in Computer Networking, which will include complementary topics of interest not covered within the degree syllabus, as well as a course on Dissertation Planning. The programme will conclude with a dissertation that spans the third and fourth semesters, enabling students to conduct independent research towards the final Dissertation, under academic supervision.
